Dinner w/ Jaimie, George and Sara

I had the pleasure of having dinner with Jaimie, Sara and George(ninjabetic) on Thursday evening. I pulled up to chick-fil-a. George and Sara pulled up, followed by Jaimie. George and Sara wanted to grab “In and Out”.  I found out the onion ring smell coming from ”In and Out” weren’t really onion rings, it’s grilled onions.  We walked over to “In and Out” they ordered food and we all started talking about Michael Jackson. George talked about the “Off the wall” album, Jaimie brought up watching the “Thriller Video”, Sara was a late Michael Jackson listener and ME I loved his music. 

We headed to Chick-fil-a with “In and Out”.  We watched Niya play in the play area.  We talked about Pumps, Carbs and life.  Sara took a few pic’s.  We went outside and I started blasting Michael Jackson’s music.  We all sang and danced.  lol Sara recorded me break dancing and paying tribute to the King of Pop. 

We all said our good-bye’s. Hoped in our car’s and left. 

I always have fun with George, Jaimie and Sara.  If you ever have the chance to meet them, you should.  They are awesome people and great friends.

Product Pusher

It’s no secret if I like something I tell the whole world about it, after I tell you about it I try to get you to buy it.

For instance, everyone knows how I feel about the iPhone. I LOVE the iPhone and if you don’t have one I’ll try my best to convience you to get one. Lol, I have converted over 6 people to the iPhone. Apple, I need a comission!

This weekend I went to Super Target, they have free sample on Sunday’s. I ran across the Propel booth, the rep tried me to taste it. I refused. I went back around and decided to give the Propel flavor water a try. Boy, I am glad I did. I bought the grape, berry and black cherry flavor! Yum!

Monday I went to work, told me friend about the product. Joy shook her head. 5 hours later I tried to get Joy to taste some, she said “Cherise, Your a product pusher. When you like something, you tell the WHOLE world about it and you think everyone should buy it.” I looked at her and smiled because Joy was right—I am a product pusher. Lol. Darn she has me begged.

Pod alarm…

I don’t have a lot of issues with the Omnipod, when I do they always seem to happen at the worst time.   I was at dinner with my Niya.  I heard Peep, Peep and Peep. I thought the peeping was coming from the kitchen, since we were sitting close to it.    When I walked outside the resturant door, the peeping sound was a lot louder.  I hoped in my car, pulled out the PDM(btw, the color screen is awesome), it read occlusion. Hum, I was a little upset.  The Pod was on my body for a little over 24 hours– the PDM deactivated the Pod.  I drove home.

The first thing I did was call Insulet.

Me: “Hello! I am calling Per PDM, my Pod has an occlusion.”

CSR: “Ok, let me start by getting your name.”

Me:  “My name is Cherise.  I live in ……”

CSR: “OK, what’s going on?”

Me:  “I had my Pod on for a over 24 hours and it’s alarming! It says it has an occlusion.”

CSR: “Ok, Did you pinch the skin when you applied the POD?”

Me: “Yes.”

CSR: “Did you check for occlusions?”

Me: “Um, I just started using insulin in Jan 2008.  I don’t think I have any skin tissue built up any where.”

CSR: “Well, you wouldn’t be able to see the skin tissue, it’s not laying on top of the skin. Do you alternate site?”

Me: “Ok, I am a little upset. Why do I have to answer the same questions everytime I call?  I am not upset with you, just a little frustrated. Yes, I alternate site.  I use my butt, back, arms, inner and outter thighs ”

CSR: “I am sorry but I have to ask you these questions.  If they see the questions weren’t answered and I send you out a new Pod, I could be terminated. ”

Me: “I understand.  Wouldn’t you feel the same way?”

CSR: “Yes, I would.”

Me: ” I am not mad at you, just upset. “

CSR: “I am going to send you a new Pod.  Do you want me to send it now or with your next shipment?”

Me: “I would have to wait another 3 months, please send it now.”

CSR: “Thank you! Have a nice night.”

I am sorry, I didn’t mean to go off on the lady but the last thing I want is someone giving me the third degree about replacing a Pod. Look in your records…I haven’t I called about this before?  I have other things to worry about…hint: diabetes

New Adventure in Exercising

I joined a gym, not a secret.  I thought about getting a personal trainer but my husband said, “You know how to get in shape, why pay someone?”.  Personal trainer is out of the question.  Next, I decided to see what classes LA fitness had to offer.   Aqua Aerobics, Cardio kickboxing and  Ab sculpting class.  Friday, I decided to try Cardio Kickboxing.  I looked around the class.  I could tell I was the only newbie! I saw a lady, I asked her “How do you like this class.”  She said, “You’ve never taken this class before? Girl, this is my favorite class. He is a great instructor.  He is hard.”  OMG! What did I get myself into.  The music started playing, my body started moving and the kickboxing class began.  I wanted to stop sooooooo bad, but I couldn’t. I felt good.

  I was motivated but by the end of the class I was exhausted.  I checked my bg, the meter read 58.  I popped a few glucose tabs in my mouth. I was good to go.     I decided– to keep going to cardio kickboxing and figure out this whole bg thing.   I enjoy it! Let’s see how next Friday goes.
